The Full Taganga Experience
This experience is for people who want to spend time in Taganga, enjoy the rhythm of a small coastal town, and take part in community life—without committing to a structured schedule.
You’re here to explore, to settle in gently, and to see what’s happening. You can drop into events, show up when it feels right, and participate in the moments that catch your interest. There’s no rush and no expectation to do everything.
Your time may include:
joining beach cleanups or community gatherings when they happen
joining and supporting English conversation spaces with locals
spending time around animals and shared community areas
getting a first look at local recycling and sustainability efforts
…and plenty of space for:
swimming, paddleboarding, or kayaking around Taganga
snorkeling in nearby coves
walking the town, the beach, and the surrounding hills
working online from cafés or by the water
visiting Minca, Tayrona Park, or Palomino
getting a feel for the place before deciding what comes next
There is no fixed time commitment for this program. It’s simply an invitation to be present, explore, and connect—at your own pace
What Your Ticket Includes
Your ticket covers:
Private room in shared housing
Access to a shared kitchen
Airport pickup upon arrival
24/7 local support — you’ll have direct access to Nikki or a local program coordinator throughout your stay
Each ticket includes one person. If you apply together with a friend for The Come & Explore Program (2 Weeks) and choose to share the same room, each of you will receive a $200 discount.
After booking, you’ll receive:
A Welcome Guide with practical details about daily life in Taganga
A Local Insider Guide — including trusted local contacts, favorite food spots, tours, cultural tips, and ways to explore places like Tayrona Park and Minca thoughtfully and safely
Together, these guides help you arrive prepared, connected, and oriented — not like a tourist, but like someone who knows how to move respectfully through the community.
Accommodations & Daily Life
You’ll have your own private room in a shared home. Bathrooms may be private or shared, depending on the house. Most accommodations include WiFi, and some include air conditioning.
Housing is located in walkable, well-known areas of Taganga where groceries, cafes, and daily necessities are easily accessible and very affordable.
Taganga is well connected:
Local buses make it easy to visit Santa Marta and explore the surrounding region
Life here is simple, social, and deeply connected to the rhythms of the community.
If you have any medical, mobility, mental health, or dietary considerations — including conditions that require specific housing, routines, or access to care — please reach out before booking so we can talk through what’s possible.
Time & Rhythm
The majority of your time in Taganga is yours — to rest, explore, and reconnect. In addition, you’ll stay connected via WhatsApp messaging with your local guide or community leader, who will share weekly events, activities, and moments where your presence is needed.
This structure allows for flexibility while ensuring you’re engaged, informed, and connected to what’s happening on the ground.

Fundraising Your Journey
To make your experience in Taganga possible, volunteers are encouraged to raise funds to cover their own program costs. Fundraising is an important part of the journey — a way to involve friends and family in what you’re doing and why it matters.
We provide a Fundraising Guide with tools, ideas, and support to make the process approachable and aligned with your values.
Important note: All funds raised go toward covering your own program costs. Many participants also choose to fundraise directly for La Semilla Taganguera while they are here, after meeting local leaders and learning exactly where the money goes and how it is used.
Dates & Availability
Taganga is a town that needs support year-round, and we currently have plenty of space to welcome new volunteers.
You can arrive whenever it works for you. Dates are fully flexible.
Once you book your ticket, we’ll coordinate with you to match your stay with the best available accommodations for the timeframe you choose, ensuring comfort, safety, and alignment with your experience.
Whether you’re planning ahead or feeling a last-minute pull to come, we’ll help make the timing work — we just ask for at least 3 days’ notice so we can prepare your stay properly.
Reservations & Refund Policy
Once you confirm your dates with us, your reservation is considered final. We strongly recommend purchasing your plane ticket before confirming your program dates.
You may request a full refund within 24 hours of booking.
After 24 hours, refunds become more complex due to advance coordination and housing commitments. In some cases, a partial refund may be possible, but this is not guaranteed and is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
If your plans change, please contact us as soon as possible so we can explore available options together.
