Planting Good Seeds — also known as Semillas de Paz — was born with a simple but far-reaching mission: to protect our shared oceans across cultures, countries, and borders.

We Build Bridges

Planting Good Seeds and Semillas de Paz are sister communities, working together to create a one-of-a-kind educational and artistic retreat in Taganga — where sustainability, culture, and creativity meet.

Planting Good Seeds is a for-profit travel and cultural immersion brand under Nikki Andrade LLC. Through thoughtfully designed programs, it brings people to Taganga to engage in meaningful experiences while supporting local, community-led initiatives like Semillas de Paz.

Semillas de Paz is a growing community of local leaders, artists, educators, and neighbors who share a common vision: to create the Caribbean’s first recycling and sustainable learning center rooted in the arts. Its focus is on transforming waste into opportunity, education into expression, and creativity into collective action.

Together, we are building a living classroom — one that teaches environmental awareness through art, while also using English as a tool to empower local youth and families to share their stories, strengthen their voices, and protect the land and sea they call home.

Our programs weave art, language, and ecology into everyday life. Cleanups become creative projects. Trash becomes treasure. English becomes a bridge to connection and opportunity. From youth English clubs and volunteer-led movie nights to recycling art competitions, reforestation efforts, artist residencies, and cultural exchanges, each initiative is designed to bring people together across cultures.

We believe true education begins with curiosity — and that creativity is one of the most powerful ways to heal communities, restore nature, and remind people that they belong to something greater.

Meet The Founder

Founder

Nikki Andrade

I didn’t always live abroad.

I was born and raised in the United States, where I spent nearly 30 years studying, working, and building a career in marketing and strategy. After graduating from Babson College, I worked with global companies such as Nestlé and the largest pasta and rice producer in the country, gaining experience inside large systems that move quickly — and often far away from the people and places they affect.

Over time, I felt a growing pull toward something quieter, more creative, and more human.

I left the corporate world to follow my inner wisdom toward creativity, authenticity, and service. What began as a personal journey eventually led me to Latin America, where living in community, close to the land and the sea, reshaped how I understood value, work, and responsibility.

Out of that experience, Planting Good Seeds and Semillas de Paz began to take form — not as projects imposed from the outside, but as networks of relationships. Friends, neighbors, artists, educators, travelers, and local leaders learning from one another and building something together.

My role is not to replace local leadership or take opportunities from the communities I’m part of. It’s to help build bridges — between people with access to resources and people with ideas, between global creativity and local initiative, between those seeking purpose and those already rooted in place.

For those arriving from abroad, this work offers something many of us have forgotten: the healing clarity that comes from slowing down, contributing, and living in relationship with a place rather than consuming it.

For those who live here, it’s about strengthening what already exists — creating space for education, creativity, environmental care, and storytelling to grow from within.

My mission is simple: to ensure that every seed we plant — in Taganga and in the hearts of those who join this community — has the chance to grow into something authentic, resilient, and free.
